Seven of the Declaration's twenty-seven grievances describe documented conduct by this administration. Twenty do not, and the twenty are why the comparison collapses in the president's favor.
Excellent article. If King George were alive today he would never behave or behave as Donald Trump has done—and neither would Charles III or in fact any of today’s constitutional European monarchs, all of whom reign (but don’t rule) over strongly democratic countries. We need a president who truly believes in our democratic system and behaves as both head of government and head of state without violating the very principles on which we were founded.
Great article. I actually just watched a show on BritBox about the Georgian Hanover family Kings. I am reading a book about Georgian England now as well that I bought at the Sir John Soane Museum in London (London is the greatest city in the world in my opinion)!
"They did not design the presidency to withstand a person who would not accept a result." Our constitutional loopchasm.
Oh, based on the recent past,I think I have a pretty good idea.
